Overview
WebEx is the software Williams uses to make phone call and check voicemail from your computer. It will allow you to use your office phone number on your computer.
Requirements
All active employees with a phone number
Instructions
Android
- Open Google Playstore & search for Webex
- Install Webex (not Webex Meetings)
- Accept permissions/End User Agreement if prompted
- Launch Webex once installed
- Login with your username@williams.edu and network password
- Okta will prompt you to connect
iOS/iPadOS
- Open the App Store & search for Webex
- Install Webex (not Webex Meetings)
- Open Webex from your iPhone & Sign In
- Enter your username@williams.edu and network password
- Okta will prompt you to connect
macOS
- Browse to oit.williams.edu/software & search for Webex
- Click the Mac download link
- Go to your Downloads folder and run the installer
- The next window will ask you which chip you have in your Mac. Most macs that have been deployed in the last four years are the silicon/Arm64 chip. If you are unsure, click on your Finder menu and choose About This Mac. The type of chip you have will be listed. Click on the appropriate chip to run the installer.
- In the next pop up you will drag the Webex icon to your Applications folder.
- Launch Webex from Applications
- Agree to the End User Agreement
- Sign In with your username@williams.edu and your password
- You will then need to Okta
- You will see a pop up window requesting access to your microphone, please allow access
Windows
- Browse to oit.williams.edu/software & search for Webex
- Click the Windows download link
- Go to your Downloads folder and run the installer
- Webex will automatically open
- Agree to the End User Agreement
- Sign In with your username@williams.edu and your password
- You will then need to Okta
- You will see a pop up window requesting access to your microphone, please allow access
