A secondary or recovery email address is a non-Williams, personal email address. Establishing and keeping your secondary email address current is a key part of your account's security.
If your Williams account is ever compromised or locked, standard communication channels break down. An external secondary email address provides a clean avenue for communication, serves to alert you of suspicious activity on your Williams account, and provides an easy route to update or reset your account password.
Note to incoming first-years: your High School's email address will deactivate-- please establish a secondary email address which will persist during your time at Williams.
How to add/change your secondary email address:
- Sign in at sso.williams.edu with your Williams credentials.
- In the dashboard, click your name in the top right → Account Settings → Edit Profile.
- After verifying with Okta, under Personal Information, select Edit, add or change your secondary email, then select Save.
- Click the verification link sent to your secondary email.
